About the Role
The Global Controller will lead ScentAir’s global controllership organization and be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across the U.S. and international entities.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong technical accounting professional who can also drive process improvement, systems transformation, financial discipline, and scalability as ScentAir continues to grow and prepare for future strategic opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be a strong business partner to the CFO, Finance leadership, Operations, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and IT.

Key Responsibilities
Global Controllership & Financial Reporting

  • Lead the global accounting and controllership function across all ScentAir entities.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, achieving a 5-business-day close.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, consolidation, and management reporting.
  • Own balance-sheet integrity, including reconciliations, reserves, and resolution of aged items.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting and establish consistent accounting policies and practices globally.
  • Improve visibility and control over working-capital drivers, including AR, inventory, AP/GRNI, accruals, and reserves.
Accounting & Cost Accounting
  • Oversee core accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, revenue recognition, and accruals.
  • Lead technical accounting for complex transactions and business initiatives.
  • Own governance of standard costing, cost rolls, BOMs, overhead allocations, inventory valuation, and manufacturing/supply-chain variances.
  • Improve controls around physical inventory, cycle counts, obsolete inventory, landed cost, freight, and GRNI.
  • Partner with Operations and FP&A to improve cost accounting, COGS, inventory, and profitability reporting across North America, Europe, and APAC.
Systems & Finance Transformation
  • Own finance’s role in the continued stabilization and development of ScentAir’s ERP and financial systems.
  • Drive improvements across Infor SyteLine/CSI, Salesforce, Power BI, and related finance applications.
  • Establish strong financial data governance across the chart of accounts, entities, products, customers, cost centers, and reporting definitions.
  • Ensure ERP, Salesforce, and Power BI reporting reconcile to one consistent source of financial truth.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve data quality, and eliminate manual work.
Controls, Audit & International Finance
  • Strengthen the global internal control environment and accounting processes.
  • Lead the annual audit and serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and control deficiencies.
  • Oversee accounting for international subsidiaries and ensure appropriate local and U.S. GAAP reporting.
  • Partner with Tax and external advisors on transfer pricing, statutory reporting, and other international matters.
  • Support refinancing, due diligence, and other strategic financial initiatives.
Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the global accounting organization.
  • Manage and develop a global accounting team of seven direct reports, establishing clear accountability, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on financial and operational decisions.
  • Build a scalable controllership organization capable of supporting continued growth and future strategic opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Active CPA license.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting & controllership experience.
  • Experience leading a global or multi-entity accounting organization.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong experience with close, consolidation, audit, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and finance transformation.
  • Strong inventory and cost accounting experience.
  • Experience with international entities and intercompany accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, systems, and controls rather than simply maintain them.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or sponsor-owned company.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or another operationally complex environment.
  • Experience with Infor SyteLine/CSI, Salesforce, Power BI, or similar systems.
  • M&A integration or financial due diligence experience.
  • Experience supporting refinancing, transaction, or exit readiness.
  • Experience operating in a fast-growing environment where processes and systems are still evolving.
